EXETER HALL PARK

COMBO:
There are a lot of things in this combo, and most of them are pretty good. I’ve singled out the best few pieces below.

PULL UP BAR:
Apart from the bar being on the thick side, this is a good pull up bar bar.

I found the bar too thick for a normal grip and had my thumb over the bar whenever I used it. It’s a shame the bar is like this as the height, width and grip are all surprisingly good.

WING BARS:
These bars are a different thickness to the pull up bar and, for that reason, probably the best bars on the rig. The highest bar is around 10ft, so there’s enough room to use gymnastic rings on them.

Wing bars are also good for explosive pull up bars.

HAMMER GRIP BAR:
It’s quite rare to see them bars in outdoor gyms. I liked this more than I thought I would. They can be used for hammer grip pull ups, at different widths, and they’re useful when you’re learning a muscle up.

DIP BARS:
These are fine for normal dips and abs exercises, but the bar is so short you won’t be able to do many dip variations.

The bars lower down, near the ground, can be used as parallete bars if you want somewhere to do push ups or handstands.

OUTDOOR GYM:
Here’s a photo of everything in the outdoor gym. The pieces that I’ve written about above are likely to be of interest, and everything else is the rubbish stuff that nobody uses.

The whole set up is next to a football pavilion (do people still use that word?) that also has kids parties (based on the time we went to these bars), so expect kids to get in the way when you’re training.
